Here's our BestVests Rain Poncho, in lightweight ripstop nylon,
treated with polyurethane.
When the rain starts, pull it out of the rear pocket of your Travel
Vest and slip it over your head. Adjust the drawstring on the hood. If you
plan to stay out for awhile, fasten the snaps under your wrists to make the
sides into sleeves.
Its rectangular shape lets you use it as a groundcloth (56"x90"), and
the grommets let you fasten two ponchos together to make a tent!
When you're not using it, fold it flat and slide it back into your
rear pocket. When you fold it to about 8"x12", it's less than 1/2" thick,
and VERY light. Provides a little padding in the vest, in case you have to sit
where your back's against something hard.
Comes in both Forest Camoflage and Black. One size.
[Alternate rain poncho: We have also located a source for actual
used GI military ponchos, previously issued to members of the armed
services. These look similar to our regular poncho, but are made of heavier
nylon fabric. These are for heavy-duty, everyday use, and come to you in
excellent condition. Click below to see the used GI Rain Poncho]
